Outdoor Worship
Every summer since COVID, the 9:30 AM service has chosen to worship in the yard next to the Sanctuary known as the Fossett Property. Thanks (once again) to the generous donation from Anthony Bishop’s employer, Deicing Depot, we will have access to an event trailer for the outdoor season. The trailer will be placed on the Fossett property (just east of the Sanctuary) and will serve as a home base for the service, housing all necessary equipment so we no longer need to set up and tear down each week.
Attendees will have a couple of options:
· Drive-in style: Designated parking spots will be available in the grassy area for those who prefer to stay in their cars.
· Lawn seating: Others are welcome to park in the lot and bring lawn chairs to sit in front of the trailer.
This outdoor service will take place every Sunday starting on June 14th, except for the first Sunday of each month (Communion Sunday), which will be held inside the sanctuary. As always, if there’s a threat of rain or extreme heat, we’ll move the service indoors. You are welcome to bring your pets if they are properly leashed. We will have a Blessing of the Animals service on June 14th with a rain date of June 21st.
New Market United Methodist Church has a small food pantry we keep stocked for those in need. We are reaching out to you asking for donations to get us through the next few months.
Some Guidelines:
Do not buy “giant size” or “bulk” of anything – they will not fit in the pantry Examples, are large packages of diapers, toilet paper or paper towels. If you buy them in bulk and the paper products are individually wrapped we can put a few out at a time. Do not get “giant” size paper towels – they take up too much room. Large cans of anything usually won’t be picked up.
Please drop off donations to the Ed. Building or in the back of the Sanctuary
